You can permanently delete your Facebook account by following these steps.

  1. Log into your Facebook account.
  2. If you want to retain the details of your account you can - Download your information! before continuing.
  3. Navigate to the Delete My Account page.
  4. Review the information presented.
  5. Press the Delete My Account button.
  6. You will be prompted to provide your password and a CAPTCHA code. Fill these fields in with the requested info.
  7. Click on the OK button.
  8. A message will appear that says:
Your account has been deactivated from the site and will be permanently deleted within 14 days. If you log into your account within the next 14 days, you will have the option to cancel your request.
